End of the Month Recap - April 2012

What can I say about this month?  Well, it has been stressful! I had to return a big essay that will decide if I am allowed to continue the class (with one month left). If I fail the essay I will fail the class, but if I pass the essay I will be allowed to take the final exam that will decide if I fail the class or not. Just writing that makes me feel nervous. The paper is out of my hands!

In the beginning of the month I set myself 4 goals for my life.

  • Drink my vitamins every day.
  • Go for a  40 minutes walk once a week
  • Lose 2kg (go down to 74.3kg)
  • Write one Helium article

And I failed them all. Yes, it is true. I started drinking vitamins every day but realized they were making me sick. I felt nauseous all of the time and just pure and simple bad! My tummy hurt all day long! I didn't go out for any walks and I definitely did not lose 2 kg! I planned on writing an helium article but all the writing I did with the essay just sucked the writing out of me. All in all April was a failure.

I as well made some goals for the blog:

I want to do Make-Up Monday at least 3 times.
I want to do Nail Polish of the Week at 4 times.
I want to show you two new recipes.
I would like to tell you about 4 blogs that I read.
I want to do another Picture an Hour post.

I managed some of those! I did Make-Up Monday five times! Make-Up Monday: #3 ; #4 ; #5 ; #6 ; #7 .
I did not do any Nail Polish of the Week posts! I did show you guys one new recipe: Peanut-butter-chocolate-banana-cinnamon Buns ( that is probably why I didn't lose any weight!). I did not tell you about any blogs I read and I did not do another Picture an Hour post.

All in all, April was stressful! The apartment is a big pile of mess and my brain looks about the same! Check by tomorrow and see my May 2012 Resolutions

Make-Up Monday #7

Today I'll just make a quick Make-Up Monday! I have another post that I am in the middle of writing and I am doing some school work! Busy bee with a headache!
As I mentioned last week my eyelashes fell out! They are growing back! You can still notice it a bit but it is getting better and better!

I love the M*A*C lip-gloss that I used! It is just fantastic, when I was looking at it in the store I wasn't really sure about it but I like it more every time I use it! I think I will make a special post about it one day! The same thing about the eye-shadow. Here I am only using one of the 5 colours in the palette. I love it! I use it a lot! I have had it for a while now and I really think I should do a special post about it.

Anyways, here are the after pictures. My hair is still wet and not at all brushed or anything since I did this straight after coming out of the shower!

Bisous!

Make-Up Monday #6

If you follow me on twitter you might know that I had a major eyelashes fall out on Saturday. If you are not following me on twitter you can do it here! I wasn't at all sure if I should even do the Make-Up Monday for the next couple of weeks until the eyelashes look decent again! I though about it for a while and decided that I should just face the world and show how my eyes look at the moment.

The thing is, I don't really know why this happened. What happened is that my eyelashes started feeling like they had tremendous pressure under them and I touched them and they just fell out and then my eye felt better.

As you can see on this picture about half of my eye doesn't have any lashes! The hairs are growing back, I can see a difference since Saturday. Hopefully they will look normal again in two weeks.

1) Clinique Chubby Stick - 07 Super Strawberry - $16
2) Clinique High Impact Mascara - Black - $15
3) Yves Rocher - Luminelle - Lilas Violette -$5

I wrote a post just about the Clinique Chubby Stick ages ago, you can find it here. I use it frequently, it is my go to when I want a quick pick me up or when I am running out the door and I need to look fabulous.

A before picture, I haven't had one for some time. I have some leftover curls in my hair. I love having curly hair once in a while and since I stopped using shampoo the curls last so much longer!

And now after, first a close up of my eye, as you can see the mascara managed to coat the tiny eyelashes that were left.

P.S. Check out my previous Make-Up posts.

Make-Up Monday #5

I'm again almost finished with my sweater that I am knitting, the first try didn't go exactly right so I had to make some adjustments!

I really wanted something today that had a wow factor, I wanted something that made me feel pretty. What else could I choose then some red lips? I like matte red lips, I like juicy shiny red lips. Today I wanted matte.

Outfit of the Day #2

This is a good-bye post to my awesome tights that I bought in H&M many summers ago. This was the last time I could wear them since they have gotten way to many holes in them! It's also a good-bye post to the weight I was in then since I am losing weight and I do not plan on going back to that weight again!

When we went out to take these pictures it wasn't raining but as soon we got to the spot we wanted to take the pictures it started raining buckets so we  had to go back inside!

Hoodie: H&M
T-shirt: thrifted
Skirt: H&M
Tights: H&M
Shoes: Converse

I have a tremendous amount of clothes from H&M! In recent times I haven't bought many things there since I have way too much from them anyway, because I never throw any clothes away.

Make-Up Monday #4

I can't stop watching the Ellen DeGeneres Show! It has nothing to do with my Make-Up Monday it's just that I have been watching her ALL DAY LONG! She is just soooo funny!

Well, my make-up today was inspired by the fact that it is spring outside and everything is fresh and colourful! This is the first time I wore this cream eyeshadow and it lasted all day long!

Skin -
As always and  I really cannot hammer on this subject enough! Sunscreen is our friend! As usual I used my Clinique sunscreen!
(Clinique SPF 30 - $19 SPF 50 - $19)

Eyes -
Last week I used this mascara as well, it's really good. I'll deferentially keep on using it!
(Clinique - High Impact Mascara - Black - $15)

As a base for the eye shadow I used this powder from Clinique that is WAY to dark for my skin! I got it as a sample and now I use it as an eye shadow!
(Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder - 03 Stay Beige - $21)

This is the first time I used this eye shadow. It looks like lip-gloss but it has the texture of an eye shadow! As I previously mentioned it went on my eyelids like a dream and stayed like a true friend!
(Yves Rocher - Pastel Cream Eyeshadow - Mauve Brume - $17.00)

1. Clinique High Impact Mascara - Black
2. Yves Rocher Pastel Cream Eyeshadow - Mauve Brume
3. Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder - 03 Stay Beige

Lips -
Today when I was trying to choose what I wanted to wear on my lips I decided that I wanted to wear a lip balm. That solved only about 25% of the problem since I have so many lip balms and they are all different and unique (at least in my mind). I had to choose how tinted I wanted it to be and what kind of smell. At last I chose "I love... raspberry & blackberry". I bought it on a whim and I haven't regretted it, it is really smooth and smells like heaven! As you can see on the sample below it isn't very tinted, it gives more of a shimmer than colour!
(Superdrug - £0.99)

Peanut butter-Chocolate-Banana Cinnamon Rolls

I had a dream that I was eating something super delicious and I when I woke up I was craving it, I couldn't stop thinking about it for a week. In the end Mr. Handsome just told me to make it and eat it! And so I did. It was literally a dream come true.

Thus, I would like to introduce you all to Peanut Butter-Chocolate-Banana Cinnamon Rolls otherwise known as Heaven Rolls.

Yields about 19 rolls
Bake it at 225°C (437 Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes.

Dough
1kg (8 cups) flour
100gr (3.5 oz) butter
5.5dl  (2.3 cups) milk
42gr (1.5 oz) fresh yeast

Melt together butter and milk in a pot. In a bowl add flour and make a little valley, in that valley break the yeast cube into smaller pieces. Check the temperature of the butter and milk mixture, it shouldn't be hot, only warmish, stick your finger in there and it should feel like a comfortable finger Jacuzzi.

Add the butter and milk mixture to the flour and yeast and mix well together. Set aside and let rise for 45 minutes - 1 hour.

When the dough has risen take it out of the bowl and roll it out, the dough should be around finger width or thinner.

Filling
1 jar of peanut butter (15oz / 425gr)
300gr (10.5 oz) milk chocolate (chopped)
dash of cinnamon
2 bananas (cut in slices)

First smear the peanut butter on the dough like it is bread. Spread the chocolate pieces and the banana slices  and sprinkle the entire thing with pure cinnamon.

Roll it up and cut it in slices. Stuff the slices into a buttered oven dish and slide it into the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes or until it seems to be ready.

Frosting
250ml (1 cup) brown sugar
130gr (4.5 oz) butter
2dl (6.6 oz) milk

Add the butter and brown sugar into a pot and stir until melted, let it cool for couple of minutes and add the milk. Whip it carefully.

The Heaven Rolls can be enjoyed warm or cold, with the frosting or without it.

Enjoy

Weekly Weigh In - whoop whoop I am actually losing weight

I haven't stepped on the scale for awhile since I just didn't have it in me. The truth is that I was feeling fat and when I am feeling fat the scale stays underneath the closet.

This morning I decided it was time to see how much weight I had gained, but my oh my I actually had LOST weight! WOOOOHOOO!

Good bye 76 kg (167.5lbs) I hope I won't see you again until I am knocked up and hello 75kg (165.3lbs) we will be partners in crime for some time.

But what did the scale say exactly this morning?

75.8 kg
(167.1lbs)

Yes I have now lost 0.5kg  (1.1lbs) since last time

How many do I have left?

8.3kg
(18.3lbs)

How many months until I turn 24?
8 Months

So if I just lose 1 kg a month I will still make it! Doesn't that feel good!

Otherwise - stay tuned because I'm editing a post of an amazing recipe that I did recently! JUMMY!

Outfit of the Day

I've wanted for a long time to do an outfit of the day post, so finally Mr. Handsome took his camera with him and we took some pictures of my outfit in the park!

About the outfit, I wear this on days when I really just want to be comfortable throughout the day. My hair is in a bun since it was dirty and I just really like not having the hair floating around everywhere.

Shirt: old one from my dad
Belt: Target
Shorts: H&M
Shoes: Converse

The weather was almost perfect. It started being windy (which is normal since we were near the lakeside). The pictures were taken around 6-7 ish so the sun was about to go down.

I had been wearing this all day long and at some point my tights got caught in something. I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures!

Make-Up Monday #3

I wanted something natural today, calm eyes and a small dash of colour on the lips. I only used 4 products today! Sunscreen, eye shadow (two different colours) and lipstick.
I don't have a before picture today, I just totally forgot about it! Because I use so few items this make-up it took barely five minutes.

Skin -
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! It is a vital thing for me! I am a pale person. Sun doesn't tan me it BURNS me! I once had a scar after a small sunburn for over a year! So I cover up and I use a lot of sunscreen. As usual I used the Cinique Sun SPF 40 Face Cream, (Clinique SPF 30 - $19 SPF 50 - $19)

Eyes -
Eye shadow: I've showed this eye shadow here before. That was January 2011! It has been lying in my make-up box since then. I used it this morning and I love it! I don't know why I haven't really used it before. I think it is because it is brown and just oh-so natural. Today when I was trying to find an appropriate eye shadow I looked at it and just wanted to use it! I am pretty sure I will now start using it more often! The eye shadow is as well from Clinique, it is the Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo, the colour is number 4 called Butter Pecan. Today I used the lighter colour as a base for the eyelid and the darker colour as the eye shadow itself. The eye shadow is super smooth, it applies amazingly and I just love it. (Clinique Butter Pecan (04) - $19.50)

Mascara: Today I used as well a mascara from Clinique, the thing is my eyes have been really irritated lately. Thus, I wanted to use a mascara that is allergic tested and Clinique is! So far my eyes are fine, maybe I am just getting annoying allergy towards my other mascaras. I find that a bit devastating because I do love my other mascaras. However, today I used the High Impact Mascara that Clinique has. I've used it before here and I loved it at that point and I love it now. It is definitely something you'll start seeing more here. (Clinique Black - $15)

Lips -
Today I used a lipstick from Yves Rocher, I've had it forever and it is almost finished! It is called Rouge Dragée and the colour is Rouge Pigment. I just quickly dab it on my lips, just to stain the lips and I love it. The texture of the lipstick is very smooth. (Clinique Rouge Pigment - $5)

April 2012 Resolutions

A squirrel in Austin,Tx last summer, it was 112Fahrenheit and he did not move!

I wanted to start a new way for me to live my life. Don't take that to literary! The thing is, year is such a long time. One year is twelve months! Making New Year Resolutions is quite difficult, something that I think is very important in the beginning of the year can be quite absurd in the end of the year. The thing is as well, I've heard frequently it that it takes 30 days to make a habit stick. Therefore, I have decided that the beginning of every month is like a beginning of a new year. Every month I will make couple of resolutions for the month and in my end of month recap I will elaborate on whether I have succeeded or not!

My resolutions for April 2012 are the following:

  • Drink my vitamins every day.
  • Go for a  40 minutes walk once a week
  • Lose 2kg (go down to 74.3kg)
  • Write one Helium article
Four solutions for this month. We'll see how it works out.

However, I've literally planned everything that comes to the blog for April!

I want to do Make-Up Monday at least 3 times.
I want to do Nail Polish of the Week at 4 times.
I want to show you two new recipes.
I would like to tell you about 4 blogs that I read.
I want to do another Picture an Hour post.

Happy times coming up! Aren't you just thrilled about spring?
